Three EU-NormCon researchers presented their papers at the International Studies Association’s (ISA) 58th Annual Convention titled “Understanding Change in World Politics”. The meeting was held between the 22nd and 25th of February in Baltimore, Maryland (USA). Juan Pablo Soriano, lecturer and postdoctoral researcher in the Autonomous University of Barcelona, presented two papers: “The European Union identity formation in international affairs and the global governance of transnational crime” and “The security-development nexus in the external action of the EU towards Latin America. Critical questions on bi-regional security governance”. On the other hand, Martijn Vlaskamp (IBEI and Yale) presented the paper “Global Commodity Prices and Local Violence: The Case of the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo”. And Benjamin Kienzle (King’s College London) presented his work with the title “Atoms untangled: Examining the implications of ‘regime complexity’ in the fight against the proliferation of nuclear weapons”.
