EU-IANUS’ researcher Juan Pablo Soriano has given at the University of Michigan the lecture “Conversations on Europe. ‘The Role of the European Union in the Global Governance of Transnational Crime.’” His speech was focused on the role of the European Union in the fight against transnational organized crime in a current context of transition.

Soriano argued that the EU has adopted an ‘entrenchment strategy’ in order to defend and further promote its norms and interests, especially against the proposals made by emerging powers such as Russia, China, and India.

The event was organized by the Center for European Studies of the University of Michigan and took place on Monday 30th of March.
